Designed For Acne-Prone Skin Already Using Retinoids
Frequently Asked Questions
Who should use Vivant Exfol-A™?
This serum is designed for normal, combination, or oily skin that has already adjusted to retinoid products such as Derm-A-Gel®. It’s especially helpful for acne-prone skin that needs stronger support for congestion, uneven texture, or post-acne discoloration.
Why is this considered a phase two retinoid treatment?
Exfol-A™ contains both a retinoid and exfoliating acids, which makes it more active than introductory retinoid products. Because of this, it is recommended for skin that has already built tolerance to earlier retinoid formulas within the Vivant system.
How does this help with acne and congestion?
The combination of retinyl propionate, glycolic acid, and lactic acid helps encourage regular skin turnover and prevent buildup inside the pore. This process helps reduce congestion, improve oil balance, and support clearer skin over time.
What’s the difference between Vivant Skincare Exfol-A and Vivant Skincare Exfol-A Forte?
Both products address the same concerns — acne, texture, pigmentation, and signs of aging. The main difference is the retinoid strength. Exfol-A contains 0.25% vitamin A, while Exfol-A Forte contains 0.5%, making it the stronger option. Because these are strong products, it’s best to build up gradually: most routines start with Derm-A-Gel, then move to Exfol-A, and eventually Exfol-A Forte. It is recommended to finish about two bottles of each step before moving to the next so the skin has time to adjust. In many cases, Exfol-A is already strong enough, and Exfol-A Forte is only needed if additional strength is required.
Will this cause dryness or irritation?
Because it contains active renewal ingredients, some dryness or adjustment may occur when first introduced. Skin that has already acclimated to retinoids generally tolerates it well, but gradual introduction and proper hydration can help maintain comfort while the skin adjusts.
