Triple Acid Peel Mask Known as a Facelift in a Jar

Environ Tri Bio-Botanical Revival Masque is an advanced at-home peel that combines three plant-derived acids, lactic, mandelic, and asiatic, to refine texture, fade pigmentation, and support skin resilience. Often referred to as a facelift in a jar, it can be used as a 10 to 20 minute mask or applied overnight for a more intensive treatment. Best used in conjunction with Environ vitamin A moisturisers.

"I recommend this masque for photo-damaged skin, uneven texture, and anyone who wants real at-home peel results without downtime. A lot of my virtual clients use this, as well as anyone who cannot get to monthly in-person treatments. Who it works best for, how to use it, and how often all depends on the client, which is part of why I love it. Start with 5 minutes, once a week, and build up gradually from there."

Why Three Acids Work Better Than One

Most acid treatments rely on a single ingredient to do all the work. This masque combines three distinct acids that each address a different concern simultaneously, hydration, pigmentation, and regeneration, rather than relying on one mechanism alone. This layered approach is part of what gives the formula its reputation as a comprehensive at-home peel rather than a single-purpose exfoliant.

Lactic Acid

Increases the look of hydration in the skin while exfoliating, and helps lighten the appearance of pigmented marks.

Mandelic Acid

Rejuvenates the appearance of pigmented areas and provides a gentle antibacterial benefit, useful for breakout-prone skin.

Asiatic Acid

Supports the look of regenerated, more resilient skin, helping the complexion recover from environmental stress and photo-damage.

Hydrates and Fades Pigmented Marks

Lactic acid is a gentle alpha hydroxy acid known for increasing the look of hydration in the skin while it exfoliates, which is unusual for an acid this effective. It also helps lighten the appearance of pigmented marks over time, addressing two common concerns, dehydration and discoloration, in a single ingredient. This is part of why the masque feels less harsh than many acid treatments.

Rejuvenates Pigmented Areas and Refines Texture

Mandelic acid is included specifically for its ability to rejuvenate the appearance of pigmented areas, along with a gentle antibacterial benefit that makes it useful for breakout-prone skin as well. Combined with the other two acids in the formula, it contributes to smoother, more even-looking texture and a visibly brighter complexion with consistent use over several weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this as an overnight treatment from the start?

It is best to build tolerance with the shorter mask application first, starting at 5 minutes once a week and working up to 20 minutes. Once comfortable with the full 20 minute application, you can transition to using it as an overnight treatment for a more intensive result.

What should I do if my skin feels dry or tight after using this masque?

This is a normal transient response to acid exfoliation. Reduce the frequency of use until the dryness or tightness subsides, then gradually reintroduce it. Pairing it consistently with your Environ vitamin A moisturizer also helps support the skin through this adjustment period.

Can I use this if I have photo-damage or uneven skin tone?

Yes. The combination of lactic and mandelic acid is specifically formulated to address pigmented marks and photo-damage, while asiatic acid supports overall skin regeneration. This makes it one of the more targeted options for sun-damaged or uneven-toned skin.

Is mandelic acid safe if I have a nut allergy?

Yes. While mandelic acid is naturally found in bitter almonds, Environ uses a synthetically manufactured version that is not sourced from almonds. There is no risk for those with nut allergies since direct exposure to nut proteins is required for a reaction to occur.

Will this masque cause tingling or irritation?

A mild tingling sensation is common as your skin builds tolerance to the exfoliating acids, and it should fade within a few minutes of application. Genuine irritation is uncommon with this formula, but if it occurs, reduce frequency and allow your skin time to adjust before increasing use again.

How to Use Tri Bio-Botanical Revival Masque

As a mask: Apply a thin, even layer to cleansed skin in the evening. Start with 5 minutes once a week, then rinse with tepid water and follow with your Environ vitamin A moisturizer. Gradually build up to 20 minutes as your skin builds tolerance.

As an overnight treatment: Once your skin is comfortable with the full 20 minutes, apply your moisturizer first, wait 20 minutes, then apply a thin layer of the masque and leave it on overnight. Rinse in the morning.

If skin becomes dry or tight, reduce frequency until that subsides.
