Who it is for
This is for you if you have red, inflamed breakouts, blackheads and whiteheads, or a mix of both, and they keep coming back. It covers what happens at your visits, how long acne takes to clear and how we track your progress.
Who it is not for
If you do not have acne and want to know where your skin is, start with the Discovery Facial. If dark marks or melasma are your main concern, BioRePeel is built for that. If you would like a plan without a treatment, book the Skin-Life Harmony Consultation.
What happens at your appointment
-
1
A real consultation
We look at your skin, your current products and anything in your life that may be contributing to breakouts. On your first visit we also run a skin imaging analysis.
-
2
A session built for your skin that day
Your first visit flexes. Sometimes it is more consultation and sometimes more treatment, because we want the full picture before we make a plan. Later visits are customized to how your skin looks on the day.
-
3
A home routine to go with it
The Clear Skin Method pairs your visits with a home routine chosen for your skin. We recommend only what your skin needs, and we adjust the routine as your skin changes.
What to expect
Why acne takes three to six months
The congestion you see on your skin today began forming deep in the pore about 90 days earlier. Your visits and your routine have to clear what is already on its way up, as well as stop new congestion from forming, which is why it can take three to six months to see clear skin.
Some ingredients speed up cell turnover, which brings the congestion that was already there to the surface faster. That is called purging, and it is the reason many people panic around weeks three and four. Purging shows up where you usually break out and can take three to six months to settle.
How we track your progress
On your first visit, the skin imaging device records your skin under cross-polarized and UV light, including porphyrins, which are made by the bacteria associated with acne. Every three to six months we take the same images and compare them with your first visit.
Between visits, photograph your skin in the same spot, in natural daylight, every four weeks with Progress Photos.

Good to know before you come in
- Bring a list of the products you use now, or photos of their labels.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell us when you book, because it changes which ingredients we use.
- If a doctor is treating you or you use prescription skincare, check with them before changing your routine.
- Leave red, sore breakouts alone between visits. Picking can leave marks and push the congestion deeper.
Common questions
How often will I need to come in?
Depending on your acne, every two to three weeks or once a month. Most clients follow the plan for three to six months, and every two to three months we take new skin imaging photos and compare them with your first visit.
How important is my home routine?
Our goal is to help you manage your acne at home, so that over time you need us less. We want you to succeed, and everything about this method is built around that.
About 80% of your results come from what you do at home, so your home routine is a core part of the Clear Skin Method. We build it with you and review every product you use, because many products can clog pores or work against each other, and some of what you use now may need to change.
We start with your products, then look at whether any lifestyle changes would help along the way. Finding what works for your skin can take some trial and error, which is why we check in with you between visits and adjust your plan as we go. The clients in our before and after photos are the ones who kept their appointments, followed their home routine every day and let us guide them.
We are never pushy, and we only recommend what your skin needs. This facial is for clients who are ready to commit to the plan and open to changing their routine.
Do I need to come in person?
Yes. The Clear Skin Method is an in-person treatment at our New York City LAZ Clinic, and your first visit includes a skin imaging analysis, which needs an in-person visit.
Do I need to tip?
No. We do not accept tips at LAZ Skincare. The price you see when you book is the price you pay.

If a product causes swelling, real burning, or a rash that spreads, stop using it and see a doctor. If you have any difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips or throat, or you feel faint, treat that as an emergency and seek medical care immediately. Once your skin has settled, we are happy to look at your routine with you and work out what to adjust.
Everything here is general education rather than personal advice. If a doctor is treating you or you use prescription skincare, check with them before changing your routine.
