The formula contains a sheer universal mineral tint that blends across a wide range of skin tones. It is not a full-coverage foundation and is designed to provide light, natural-looking coverage rather than a specific shade match. Most skin tones find it blends naturally, though very deep skin tones may find the tint too light for everyday wear.
For most skin types, no. Intellishade Original contains squalane, hyaluronic acid, aloe, and glycerin that provide meaningful daily hydration, making it sufficient as both moisturizer and SPF in one step for normal and dry skin. If your skin is very dry or you are using drying actives like retinoids or acids, applying a moisturizer underneath before Intellishade can provide extra support. Listen to how your skin feels throughout the day and adjust accordingly.
Intellishade Original contains THD Ascorbate, a stable and effective form of vitamin C that provides daily antioxidant protection and gradual brightening as part of your morning SPF step. For many clients this is sufficient. If you are specifically targeting significant hyperpigmentation, melasma, or want a more concentrated corrective vitamin C treatment, a dedicated vitamin C serum applied underneath will deliver a higher dose. For general daily protection and maintenance, the vitamin C in Intellishade alone does the job.
Yes. Many clients wear Intellishade Original as a standalone product for daily wear. The sheer tint evens tone, reduces redness, and gives a polished glow without the weight or coverage of a traditional foundation. Those who want more coverage can layer a light foundation or concealer on top.
Both provide SPF 45 and the same core anti-aging peptides and antioxidants. The difference is in the UV filter system. Intellishade Original uses a hybrid of mineral and chemical filters, has a more moisturizing feel, and leaves a healthy glow finish. Intellishade TruPhysical is a 100% mineral formula with no chemical UV filters, making it the better choice for sensitive, reactive, rosacea-prone, and post-procedure skin that cannot tolerate chemical sunscreens. If your skin has no sensitivities to chemical filters, either works. If it does, TruPhysical is the right fit.
